How to Join an Earth Treasures NZ Live Crystal Show

An Earth Treasures NZ Facebook Live Crystal Show brings the beauty and energy of natural crystals, gemstones, fossils and other treasures directly into your home.

Unlike shopping from a photograph, a Live Crystal Show gives you the opportunity to see individual pieces from different angles, watch how they respond to light, and take a closer look at their natural colours, patterns, inclusions and formations before deciding whether a piece is right for you.

Hosted by Liane from Earth Treasures NZ, who has worked with natural crystals since 2010, the shows combine crystal shopping with education, conversation and a welcoming community atmosphere.

Why Shop for Crystals Live?

Every natural crystal is unique, and photographs cannot always capture everything that makes an individual piece special.

During a Live Crystal Show, Liane can show pieces more closely, turn them to reveal different sides and highlight interesting natural features. You can also ask questions while the crystal is being shown.

Live viewers may also get an early look at new arrivals and special pieces before they are added to the Earth Treasures NZ website.

Tuesday Live Crystal Shows

Earth Treasures NZ Live Crystal Shows are normally held on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm on Facebook.

Each show includes beautiful natural crystals and gemstones, along with the Let's Talk Crystals segment, where Liane shares information about crystals and their fascinating natural and traditional spiritual associations.

There are also Spot Quizzes, so pay attention to anything that is deliberately emphasised or spelt out during the show!

Each week also includes a Buyer's Prize and a Share Prize, adding a little extra fun to the evening.

How to Claim a Crystal

When you see a piece you would like to purchase, follow the claiming instructions Liane gives during the Live.

Claims are made through the Facebook Live comments. If more than one person claims the same piece, the order in which comments appear on Liane's device determines who successfully claimed it.

Because Facebook comments can sometimes appear differently on different devices, the comments visible to Liane during the Live are used to keep the process as fair and consistent as possible.

It can also be helpful to keep a pen and paper nearby so you can make a note of the treasures you have claimed throughout the evening.

Invoicing and Payment After the Show

After the Live Crystal Show, your purchases are finalised and you will receive details of the items you have claimed and the amount owing.

Payment is required within 48 hours of your invoice being sent.

Afterpay is available for eligible purchases, providing another payment option for customers purchasing larger or special pieces.

Regular customers may also be able to use Earth Treasures NZ's Old School Layby arrangement after discussing this with Liane.

Old School Layby requires a non-refundable 20% deposit within 48 hours, followed by regular weekly or fortnightly payments.

If a payment is going to be late, please contact Liane. Missed payments without notification receive an X-mark. Three X-marks will result in the layby being cancelled and the 20% deposit will not be refunded. Any amount paid above the deposit will be applied toward products in the order basket, excluding shipping, and the applicable paid-for products will be sent.

ho feel anxious about authenticity. Many of the most exquisite items, such as certain extraterrestrial tektites, are featured as exclusive "live-only" treasures. These pieces often find their homes during the Tuesday night shows before they ever have a chance to be listed on the main website. Participating in an Earth Treasures NZ Live Crystal Show gives you first choice of the newest arrivals, ensuring you don't miss out on those truly unique specimens that define a collection.

How to Participate and Claim Your Pieces During a Live Sale

Stepping into your first Live Crystal Show might feel like entering a hidden gallery where the treasures are revealed one by one. While the pace can be lively, the environment is intentionally welcoming and designed for newcomers to feel at ease. Liane is your knowledgeable guide, ensuring every collector has a clear view of the specimens on offer. To ensure you don't miss a rare find, a stable internet connection is your best tool. Because comments appear in a specific order on the curator's screen, being on a reliable home Wi-Fi network helps your "claims" register without delay when a particularly striking Labradorite carving or Amethyst sphere is presented.

Setting up your notifications for Tuesday nights

To ensure you never miss an event, follow the Earth Treasures NZ page and adjust your settings to receive "All Live Notifications". These shows are a highlight of the week, typically held on Tuesday nights. Arriving a few minutes before the start time allows you to settle in and see the premier Statement Pieces that often lead the show. Creating a calm space in your lounge with a cup of tea transforms the evening into a serene experience, allowing you to appreciate the natural history of each piece without feeling rushed.

The "Claim" system: How to secure your favourite items

A "claim" is a typed commitment in the live chat to purchase the specific item currently being displayed by the curator. Each piece is usually assigned a code or a price by Liane. To secure it, you simply type that identifier into the comments. If two people claim the same item, the comment that appears first on Liane’s device takes priority. This is a standard etiquette that keeps the show fair and methodical. It's helpful to keep a small notepad nearby to jot down your claims, making it easy to track your growing "basket" as the evening progresses.

Invoicing and payment: What happens after the show

Once the live broadcast ends, the process of finalising your treasures begins. You'll receive a private message or email with an itemised invoice including your total.

Know your rights when shopping online: to feel confident that your purchases are protected under New Zealand's Consumer Guarantees Act. Standard policy requires payment within 48 hours of the invoice being sent. For those who have fallen in love with larger statement pieces, Afterpay is available to make these one-of-a-kind investments more accessible. Before the next show, you might like to browse the current collection to see the types of ethically sourced treasures Liane frequently features. After payment is settled, your items are carefully prepared for their journey to your home.

Regular patrons can also use the Old School Layby system after discussing their order with Liane. This is a non-refundable 20% deposit payable within 48 hours, followed by regular weekly or fortnightly payments. Missing a payment without notifying Liane results in an X-mark on your order. Three X-marks (three missed payments without notification) will forfeit your order and the deposit won’t be refunded. Any money already paid over the deposit will be applied to the products in your order basket (excluding shipping) and those chosen will be sent to you.
