Every natural crystal has a story. Long before it reaches Earth Treasures NZ, it has been formed within the Earth over thousands, millions, and sometimes billions of years. From its natural beginnings to the moment it becomes part of your collection, each crystal has travelled its own unique journey.

Choosing Our Suppliers

At Earth Treasures NZ, I take great care when choosing the suppliers I purchase from. I have built relationships with trusted suppliers and seek information about the origin and sourcing of crystals wherever this information is available.

The international crystal and gemstone industry can involve several stages between a mine and the final retailer. Because of this, complete traceability is not always possible for every individual crystal.

Rather than making promises that cannot always be independently verified, I believe in being open and transparent about what I know.

Responsible sourcing is important to me, and I continually aim to work with suppliers who demonstrate care for their products, the people involved and the natural materials they provide.

Selecting Crystals for Earth Treasures NZ

Choosing crystals is one of my favourite parts of what I do.

I look for pieces that are beautiful, interesting and special in their own individual way. Natural inclusions, colour variations, patterns, formations and other characteristics are part of what makes genuine crystals so fascinating.

Not every crystal needs to be perfectly clear or flawless. In fact, many inclusions and natural features tell part of the crystal's geological story and can make a piece even more unique.

My selections can include everything from raw crystals, specimens and clusters to points, towers, spheres, freeforms, carvings, fossils, gemstones and statement pieces.

I also select crystals intuitively. Within crystal traditions, many people feel naturally drawn to particular colours, shapes or stones, and I love finding pieces that I believe will connect with the people who eventually choose them.

From My Suppliers to Earth Treasures NZ

Once selected, the crystals make their way to Earth Treasures NZ, where I can inspect and prepare them before they are offered for sale.

Where information about a crystal's mineral type, origin, treatment or other characteristics is known to me, I aim to describe it as accurately as possible.

Because crystals are natural products, variations in colour, markings, inclusions, shape and formation are completely normal. These differences are part of their natural beauty and mean that many pieces are truly one of a kind.

The final part of the journey is perhaps the most special — when a crystal finds its new home.

Responsible sourcing is an evolving journey. Information and traceability can vary between minerals, countries, mines and suppliers, so I prefer transparency over making broad claims that cannot always be verified.

As Earth Treasures NZ continues to grow, I will continue learning, asking questions and choosing suppliers and crystals with care.
